we're here at the intersection of allen rock and jackson in san jose. we're waiting for the coroner to arrive to complete their part of the investigation and remove the body, as you can see, it is still in the middle of the road. it appears this person was carrying a backpack of some sort, perhaps trying to cross the street when they were hit and killed. this was a hit and run. police are looking for that driver. the only description they have is the dark colored vehicle heading wet bound on allen rock. we understand at least one witness who flagged down a bus, offer help, was able to identify the car. route 70 by the way is being rerouted. a investigation will focus on the road conditions at the time. it was just after 6:00 this happened so it was still dark out and most likely raining at the time. you can see, it's been raining off and on. so whether weather conditions played a role in the accident will be part of the investigation, also determine how much information the witness will be able to give because it was so hard to see at the time. reportin
